Day 1: Meet and transfer from Tocumen International Airport to your hotel. Start your Adventure trip preparing yourself for the next 10 active days! Overnight at ‘Hotel Tryp Centro’ in a standard room.
Day 2: Partial Canal Transit Tour: In the morning, you will be collected for your transfer to Flamenco. There you will take the tour bus, which will take you to the Gamboa area, where the trip starts. You will transit Pedro Miguel Locks. When entering Pedro Miguel Locks you will experience a drop of 9 meters in one step and find the Miraflores Lake, an artificial lake that connects Pedro Miguel Locks and Miraflores Locks. Afterwards you will enter the last set of locks called Miraflores Locks in the Pacific Ocean. You will be sailing the Pacific Ocean on the way to the disembarkation point at Amador Causeway, passing under the Bridge of the Americas (Puente de Las Americas). Panama Bay will be the end of this unique trip. You will spend another night at the ‘Hotel Tryp Centro’ Panama City in a standard room.
Day 3: This day includes a transfer in 4×4 car to San Blas. From the pier you will have to take a water taxi to the catamaran. Upon arrival, meet your captain and be welcomed aboard one of the San Blas Sailing yachts. Experience the beauty of the 365 islands, among which only 10% are inhabited.
All meals and drinks on board are included.
Day 4 & Day 5: Enjoy a sailing cruise around the San Blas archipelago, which is situated in the Caribbean Sea a few miles off the north coast of Panama, selected as the third most beautiful destination all over the world! Visit the traditional Kuna Indian villages and see their famous Molas. Explore deserted islands, go snorkeling, fishing, kayaking … and enjoy real moments of peace reading, and relaxing away from the massive tourism!
Day 6: Our driver will bring you back to Panama City where you will have the day off to relax. Overnight at the Hotel Tryp Centro in a standard room.
Day 7: We depart from Panama City early in the morning, shortly after breakfast, on the Pan-American Highway towards Colombia. Along the way, we will stop for a short coffee break. Once we enter the Darien province, the paved road ends and we begin the rough 4X4 terrain.Later, we will board a piragua (dug-out canoes) to the Wounaan Village of Boca de Lara. The Wounaan are very curious about us, just as we are about them, and will tend to hang around to observe and see the newcomers. Traditional lunch will be served at the lodge. Later, we will discover the wonders of the mangroves in piraguas and tempt our luck at fishing like the locals.
Day 8: After breakfast, we will leave our village to reach the Lagarto River, one of the largest of Panama and we will prepare us with our kayak to discover the secrets of the Rio and enjoy animals meetings… for a full day. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 9: After a hearty breakfast, we will towards to Puerto Kimba by 4X4. There, we will board a “panga” outboard boat, which will take us to discover the Gulf of San Miguel; it’s Spanish forts, La Palma (Darien’s capital) and with some luck we’ll see some dolphins. Lunch at La Palma. Some of the birds that you may observe there are: pelicans, ibis, herons, frigates and kingfisher.
Day 10: In the early afternoon, we will have lunch at a local “colonos” farm and begin our return trip to Panama City.
Day 11: Our driver will pick up at your hotel and ride you to the most attractive and interesting sites of the Capital City, including the remains of Old Panama City (‘Panama la Vieja’), which were sacked by pirate Henry Morgan in 1671. Continue to the Colonial City or “Casco Viejo”, built in 1673, with special Spanish architecture, and where French workers, led by Ferdinand de Lesseps that initiated the project of the Panama Canal, had their homes. The tour continues to the traditional and commercial zones, the banking area and the modern city of Panama. Furthermore you can appreciate the biggest engineering structure of this century, considering as the “Eighth Miracle of the Modern World”. Learn about its function and its history. After this you can see the ships transferring the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal and you will be taken to the Amador Causeway, a man-made connection of three islands.
At the end of the tour we will bring you to the International Airport Tocumen for your international flight.
